Process
- Obtain a police report from a police station in the relevant community.
- Complete the Research Information Form.
- Submit the form and supporting documents to the Driver's Licence Unit.
- RTD researches the driver's licence record.
- Pay the cashier once the record is found.
- After verification, the Photo Clerk updates and prints the duplicate licence.
The RTD says the duplicate licence is issued for the same period as the previous licence.

When To Escalate To A Human
- The previous driver's licence was already expired and you may need a renewal instead.
- RTD cannot locate the licence record.
- You need a correction, name change, or category change rather than a simple duplicate.
- You cannot provide the police report or residency documents required for the request.
